Day 1

Full day tour of Beijing with lunch – Jing for short, is the nation’s political, economic, cultural and educational center as well as China’s most important center for international trade and communications. One of the six ancient cities in China – it has been the heart and soul of politics and society throughout its long history.
Tiananmen Square: Located at the center of Beijing City is Tiananmen Square, where you can visit Tiananmen Tower, Monument to the People’s Heroes, Great Hall of the People, Mao Zedong Memorial Hall and see the national flag raising ceremony. Thousands of people come to the Square every day. It is the must place to visit in Beijing City.

The Temple of Heaven: The Temple of Heaven with an area of about 2,700,000 sq. m was built in 1420 A.D, during the Ming Dynasty to offer sacrifice to Heaven. As Chinese emperors called themselves ‘The Son of Heaven’, they dared not to build their own dwelling, ‘Forbidden City’ bigger than a dwelling for Heaven.

Forbidden City is the largest and the best-preserved imperial palace complex in the world. It has 9,999n 1/2 rooms in flourishing period with just a single room short of the number that ancient Chinese belief represents ‘Divine Perfection’ and surrounded by a 6m deep moat and a ten-meter high wall. For five centuries, this palace functioned as the administrative center of the country.

Summer Palace: Situated 15 km (9.3 miles) from central Beijing, summer palace, is the largest royal park and being well preserved. Containing examples of the ancient arts, it also has graceful landscapes and magnificent constructions. The Summer Palace is the archetypal Chinese garden, and is ranked amongst the most noted and classical gardens of the world. In 1998, it was listed as one of the World Heritage Sites by UNESCO.

The Jingdu Pearl Factory : The capital pearl store is one of the most famous pearl store in Beijing city with rare stuff – especially the golden color pearl from the Tahiti, – everybody know that the white color pearls are common, the black one is rare, the golden one is more rare. Great Wall of China: The Great Wall is one of the ‘Eight Wonders of the World’ and is enlisted in the World Heritage Directory. The Great Wall stretches over approximately 6,700 km (4,160 miles) in total. We will be visiting The Badaling sector of the Great Wall. Because of its popularity it is the easiest to get to and has a lot of modern conveniences for navigating the wall or purchasing souvenirs.

Ming Tomb: 50 km northwest from Beijing City lays the Ming Tombs – the general name given to the mausoleums of 13 emperors of the Ming Dynasty (1368 – 1644). The mausoleums have been perfectly preserved, as has the necropolis of each of the many emperors. Because of its long history, palatial and integrated architecture, the site has a high cultural and historic value. The layout and arrangement of all thirteen mausoleums are very similar but vary in size as well as in the complexity of their structures.

Affiliated with the Ming Tombs, the Sacred Road was originally built to lead to the Changling mausoleum, considered to be the road leading to heaven because Chinese emperors were known as the Son of Heaven. During their reign they often passed through the sacred road to the sacrificial altar in order to converse with heaven.

Silk & Ally Market is a shopping center in Beijing that accommodates over 1,700 retail vendors, notorious for their wide selection of counterfeit designer brand apparels – clothing, shoes, bags, accessories, souvenirs, leather goods and much more. You won’t find price tags on anything and you have to bargain for the price. You may get a branded T shirt for $2! Of course they are not genuine but its worth for fake giveaways.

Beijing Zoo: Spread around 800,000 square meters, set in a rich landscape of trees, hills and lakes, alongside a canal that flows all the way to the Summer Palace, Beijing Zoo is a bio-diversified natural habitat for 10,000 animals of 800 different species. Besides the famous Giant Pandas, but there are many other interesting animals to see, including the Red Panda, Sichuan golden monkey, Manchurian tigers, yaks from Tibet, enormous sea turtles, Indian elephants, and zebras and giraffes from Africa.

Olympic Green: The Beijing National Stadium or “Bird’s Nest” is the centerpiece of this project. It hosted the opening and closing ceremonies, athletics, and football finals of the Games. The stadium has room for 91,000 spectators, but the capacity will be reduced to 80,000 after the Olympics. The Beijing Olympic Village housed all the participating athletes. The village is made up of 22 6-story buildings and 20 9-story buildings.

Hutong Tour by Rickshaw: Hutongs are small alleyways where people live together in communities of homes packed into a small area. The architecture is intriguing, but it is more than just the architecture that draws visitors. You will be taking a rickshaw tour to this area where you will have enough time for shopping.
